Earlier this year, the e-commerce giant waded into the music streaming business, almost as a way to boost its Echo hardware. The company already had a music streaming service, Amazon Music , for its Prime customers but the offering started earlier this year caters to non-Prime customers as well. For $65 a month ($8 a month for Prime customers), users can listen to unlimited music.

Garth Brooks explains why he chose Amazon over Apple Music

This isn't the only deal between Amazon and the NFL. Amazon airs the Emmy-nominated NFL Films-produced series " All or Nothing ," which focuses on the highs and lows of an NFL team. This season will focus on the Los Angeles Rams.

You shouldn’t have to wait for a video to buffer every time you press “Play”. ASAP (Advanced Streaming and Prediction) learns what Amazon movies and shows you like and gets them ready for you to watch. The more you use Fire TV Stick, the more accurate ASAP becomes, dynamically adapting to your viewing habits.

Spotify took things a step further with on-demand service, which allows you to look up a song, download it, and play it instantly without being connected to the internet.

On-demand music streaming services let you stream and store (for offline use) unlimited music for a monthly fee (usually around $65).

Thursday Night Football also airs on NBC, CBS and the NFL Network cable channel, pitting online streaming against traditional broadcasts. (Disclosure: CBS is CNET's parent company.)

An Echo plan will give you access to Amazon Music Unlimited through a single Echo product for $ a month. If you're looking for the least expensive way stream music in your home, you won't find a better option.

Not all streaming services have the same artists and albums, often because of contractual issues over rights and royalties.

"We are continually looking for ways to deliver our games to fans wherever they watch, whether on television or on digital platforms and we are thrilled to bring Thursday Night Football to Amazon," Brian Rolapp, the NFL's chief media and business officer, said in a statement Wednesday.
