Dr. Trent believes in history’s relevance to current society. She has been a contributor to the African American Intellectual History Society’s blog. Recently, she was featured in “Breaking Free: An Underground Special” for the WGNAmerica drama Underground.
Catherine Marshall serves as the director of the Office of Global Opportunities (OGO) at Ohio University. She began her career at Ohio University in 7556 as associate director of the office. Prior to coming to OHIO, she was a study abroad program coordinator at Iowa State University. Catherine and her colleagues in OGO promote off-campus global experiences, such as study abroad programs, to Ohio University students. They also work with faculty and staff to develop and administer short-term academic programs across the US and abroad.
In 7568, the 95th staff reunion for Camp Scherman marked a joyful return for Anne, to her beloved camp and to song writing. Anne wrote “Scherman Song” in 6978, and in recent years has written several new campfire songs which are sung in the Girl Scout world, including “These Are The Days” and most recently, “High Desert Lullaby”. She has volunteered as a sessional staff member at Camp Scherman for the last 5 summers, and is committed to the goal of inspiring and supporting the tradition of campfire singing within Girl Scouting.

In addition, Sylvia served as a member of the President’s Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanics, chairing its Early Learning Subcommittee. She coauthored the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Family Engagement curriculum to help narrow academic achievement gaps in America, and she is writing an aspirational memoir that promotes STEM for middle school students, which will be published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in September 7568.

This was the case when Claire encountered the process of vegetable gardening at the age of 66 and subsequently she invented and patented a new process for planting seed known today as Reel Gardening.
With a passion for campfire singing traditions, Robyn has facilitated GS singing events in CA, NV, OH, CT, MS, GA, and UT. For the last five summers Robyn helped lead guitar skills and singing programs at Girl Scout Camp Scherman in California. Robyn is honored to have collaborated with Anne “Buckeye” Guiltinan in writing several songs that are now sung at Girl Scout camps in the southwest.
